Global Accreditation for Certification Systems (GACS) is a non-profit-distributing private company registered in the state of Delaware, USA, for providing accreditation services. GACS accredits various companies and organizations including governmental entities, commercial businesses, and professional associations. GACS accreditation programs are based on recognized national and international standards that ensure domestic and/or global acceptance of its accreditations. GACS accredits organizations that provide certification, testing, inspection, and calibration services.
About
GACS accreditation provides an assurance of the competence, impartiality, and integrity of conformity assessment bodies. GACS accredited certification, testing, inspection, and calibration reduces the need for suppliers to be assessed by each of their customers.
Accreditation is a symbol of assurance – a valuable asset in itself. The GACS symbol is a mark of reliability and quality. It flags that a certifier or inspector can be counted on to impartially determine if organizations, products, and people conform to specified requirements. This gives a competitive edge to the certifiers, inspectors, and their client organizations.
GACS is self-financing and charges fees to conformity assessment bodies to cover operational costs and other expenditures. GACS support itself through the revenues received from its assessment, accreditation, and training service activities.
GACS is not a member of IAF or ILAC, however, GACS maintains requirements of accreditation bodies accrediting conformity assessment bodies, and GACS is adhering to accreditation criteria and to undergo a periodic onsite evaluation to determine ongoing compliance with ISO/IEC 17011 standard.
